I think what I don't like about the 2000 tour (which I only know from boots) is that Ed sounds so depressed and as a result sort of flat. I even hear this in beloved show like Seatlle 2 and very much in Saratoga Springs. Makes all the sense in the world given Roskilde.

I was listening to Lubbock today and he said "seats just two" and it made me wonder when he was doing the "seats just one" consistently.

This would actually completely explain the appearance of "Parting Ways" early in leg 2.

That Parting Ways from Lubbock is so fucking good. The Sonic Youth-y end to it is just tops.

I'd have to check. He definitely added it during to the Orpheum '94 version (though it's absent from the official release.)

They were definitely together in 98, during that Washington show, which is like the 3rd last show of the tour I believe, Hovercraft opened and she actually comes out during PJ's set before Ledbetter.
