Good man..
The first film being such a disappointment, lead me to believe it'd all come good in the second. And we all saw how that went..I've no hope or positive expectation for the final movie, so i'll see it but i'm a lot more realistic about how good it's not gonna be.

If you could choose any five armies, real or fictional, to be in this film, which would you go for?

Yeah but some of his army are still alive. It would be entertaining to watch geriatric Nazis try to fight stuff.

So the digital release of the extended edition of DOS was yesterday and includes 25 more minutes and a lot of people are saying it's a much more complete film and makes it a lot more faithful to the book as well as making the film seem a lot more whole and complete in and of itself.
It's out there on torrents. I'll be back with thoughts.

No way that movie gets closer to the book through more run time.

Shouldn't make sense but it does.
the extended edition of AUJ added a lot and that was only in 11 minutes...
spoilers..
- Spoiler: show
- There are several segments that have been extended to give the movie a more complete feel. An example is the dwarves introduction to Beorn which is a version based off the book. Mirkwood has been extended to include Thorin shooting at the stag, Bombur falling in the river as well. Dol Guldur and Laketown sequences were also extended to flesh both those areas out more it is 25 minutes of extra stuff!

I'm hoping the extended version also include a longer dwarves washing dishes and singing scene.
