As I said already, expectations do not affect my feelings about a movie. I was not "let down."
not even a little?
75% contrarianism, 20% presence of Adam Sandler or Godzilla, only 5% expectation.
are you saying that LV has overstayed his welcome like the aforementioned Actor/Movie?
no way. the world needs its Adam Sandlers and Godzillas and LVs. Without darkness there can be no light.
LV is one of my favorite fleshed-out posters

Saw this last night. It was awesome.
2 hours of CINEMA. bare bones story, a little bit of crappy flash backs & then just crazy shit for 2 hours.
It's the kind of movie that you just sit there & wonder what the hell are they going to do next (and not in the Michael Bay way)
You didn't care where these people came from, or why they had Dr. Satan masks on. You took the world at face value & enjoyed the ride.
I read a review somewhere : "In this movie they bring a guy tied to a truck made of out huge ass speakers with a flaming guitar to provide the war party with it's own score because, fuck you."
That's how it felt. It was refreshing in the way The Devils Rejects was refreshing. I regret not seeing it in XPlus.

I've been in movies where people clapped at the end but never after the first 15 minutes. Relentless and brutal.
Putting on my Loathedvermin Cap of Hyperbole +3 for a second: George Miller just rendered all other car chase movies obsolete.
But after the first 5 minutes, I didn't think so. It gets off to a strange start. For a second I though I was watching a trailer. Cool but jarring. At first I was like "ehhhh i don't know about this. This doesn't feel right." Its too big, too theatrical...
but by the time that
- Spoiler: show
- Guitar Guy
shows up, I was completely on board. It was right, I was wrong. It is 1000% Mad Max
There are moments like that throughout: Little shit that doesn't work but who cares when its surrounded by so much that not only works, but stuns?
And from a design standpoint, there is enough design porn to last me quite a while, and it was used effectively, not just for show. Mad creativity.
The
- Spoiler: show
- guitar guy
was fucking awesome.
