I thought that was really nice, loved those photographs. I'm glad Bob didn't try Muddy, it was kind of bad enough having him do Days Between. But they pulled it together and thought it ended very nicely.

I was really impressed with Drums and especially Space on these shows. Saturday night got pretty dark, it was awesome.
They should have left Days Between alone. It's a beautiful song and one that I wish I had heard more of before Jerry passed.

Lee from SY perfectly captures the sprit of those last five shows.

Is the GD store going to make the shows individually available, like they did with Europe '72? I find my fondness for the Dead plummets considerably once Mydland joins the band, so about half of the set probably wouldn't really be up my alley. But '67-'78 Dead is some of my favorite music ever.

Not sure about the gd site but I can make em available

I like the later year shows bec I'm a fan of a lot of those 80s songs.. late 70s shows are the best tho.. I've just been getting into the 60s shows, it's a way different sound to me but I like it

I like the songs, for the most part -- "In the Dark" in particular has some really strong songs on it. The shows I've heard have been really hit-or-miss, though -- Garcia's singing on the bad nights is painfully feeble, and I really don't care for Mydland's voice or keyboard playing.

Dick's Picks 18 (from Feb. '78) is a great release from right on the cusp of the Mydland era, with some sublime playing from JG.

The new box set is so massive that it's even tough committing to torrent it.

I know

These links I'm getting are lightning fast, like a minute tops per show.. but they're in m4a (which I'm not complaining bec I'm getting links) but I then have to convert em bec my stereo won't play them

In the meantime I'm building up a killer iTunes dead playlist

Every time I hear Mydland sing lead it makes me think of Bryan Adams -- it just feels like generic 80's rock balladry to me.

I found a dropbox link with the mp3s, so I'm just picking and choosing. Some of these I have nice aud sources for (Augusta 84), but some I've been dying to get upgrades of (Miami 89). I did St Louis 71 today for the commute, really good show. Make sure you get the pdf too, tons of good stuff there as well.

My favorite Brent song is Blow Away.
