I have been within smelling distance of Courtney and she appeared squeaky clean.

She'd have to take a shower first, though.
I wouldnt mind either way

I saw her at a SXSW event where it rained and there was way too much free alcohol, and in that context I enjoyed her music a lot.

I must say, however, that it is a little weird listening to and enjoying a song when you realize that she's singing about silly things such as organic vegetables or a shower handle in a dead old lady's house. I get that she focuses on specific things that we encounter everyday but overlook. But I just wish her lyrics weren't so myopic at times.

Really enjoying this album - it's a welcome throwback to the vibe of the Aussie music scene in the 90's
Back in late 2013 I bought some tickets to see Billy Bragg at the Perth Concert Hall. Unfortunately in the end I was unable to make it down from Broome to get to the concert (which was in March 2014) so I gave all 4 tickets to my brother to go. He took my niece and a few mates and had a blast.
I was pretty bummed as I'm a big Billy Bragg fan, but shit happens and what can you do, amirite?
So anyways, a few months later I'm driving my niece somewheres and Avant Gardener comes on my stereo and she's like "Oh! That's Courtney Barnett - she's great!" and I'm like "I know, right??" and she then thanks me for introducing me to her, which I found pretty confusing because I couldn't recall ever mentioning Courtney Barnett to her. Conversation ensues and it turns out Courtney Barnett was the support act for Billy Bragg in Perth at the concert.
So now I'm doubly-bummed that I not only paid for 4 tickets that I couldn't use and missed Billy Bragg, I also missed Courtney Barnett, and didn't even know it at the time.
Shit.
