Past Life without the spoken word would be killer.

I actually don't mind it, tells the story of the song in an interesting way. Imagine how much worse/corny it would be if it was Kevin's actual unfiltered voice.

Ps. How cute is the chick voice on the phone at the end :)

So turns out this is literally an 'un-master' by 'BrickwallHater':
BrickwallHater wrote:I know it may seem a bit early for a remaster of this album, but this one was brickwalled enough that it bothered me, so now, enjoy a TRUE AUDIOPHILE'S WET DREAM!!!

Waveform of Let It Happen CD(bottom) vs Remaster(top):

That bottom waveform doesn't look like an audiophile's wet dream, the top one does though!!

Remember to do the right thing and buy the album and support the artist and label for their great work too.

Past Life without the aussie accent would be good as well.

Here's where I come out in ranking the songs. Note: there's very little separating my 1 through 8.

1. Let It Happen
2. The Less I Know The Better
3. Reality In Motion
4. Yes I'm Changing
5. Disciples
6. The Moment
7. Eventually
8. Cause I'm A Man
9. Love/Paranoia
10. New Person, Same Old Mistakes
11. Nangs
12. Gossip
13. Past Life

You've got New Person all wrong, CH2.

i absolutely LOVE the breakdown in the middle. but that ranking is more of a reflection of how great the other songs are. ;)

Something like that.

I made another post, now deleted, where I cued the album up on Spotify and gave it a cursory listen. My thoughts were very positive but I ended up wanting to walk back my initial enthusiasm as the album went on, I thought it dragged a bit in the middle. I'll certainly be giving it further listens.

I am really struggling with a sense of disappointment right now...

It's quite strange going back to Innerspeaker after listening to Currents so much in recent weeks.

While I think the new album probably has some of their strongest tracks (Let It Happen is still #1 for me), I would rank them thus:

Innerspeaker
Currents
Lonerism

There's something about the synth sounds and underlying feel of Yes I'm Changing that really reminds me (in a slightly left-of-centre way) of Angelo Badalamenti's Twin Peaks/Julee Cruise material, a combination of all of these:

I may be wildly off-base but regardless it's a great song.
