I fucking love you.Brett wrote:I'm so glad that I eventually gave 22, a Million a second chance after being initially put off by it. Really getting into that album meant I was in the right mindset for i,i, and I disagree with anyone who thinks the latter is a poor follow up to the former. It's an obvious evolution from 22, a Million, for sure, but it also tidily folds in elements of Bon Iver, Bon Iver and even tiny bits of For Emma to encompass the whole project arc. Justin's come a long way from that first album, and I feel that he's reached the point where his ambitious arrangements and production are fully integrated with his emotive songwriting.
Aw. Back at you, Strat.Strat wrote:I fucking love you.Brett wrote:I'm so glad that I eventually gave 22, a Million a second chance after being initially put off by it. Saw them Saturday night. Best sound I've ever heard live. Just spot on. Unfortunately, Bon Iver organization have done a horrible job scouting venues to ensure their lightshow fits. The mirror part of the show couldn't fit in the venue they played, so visually we only got about 1/3 of that part of the show.Strat wrote:Well shit. Last night was one of the best shows ive seen in recent memory.
The new album sounds absolutely incredible live.
That's unfortunate to hear! Ill be curious how there show in Mpls goes.surfndestroy wrote:Saw them Saturday night. Best sound I've ever heard live. Just spot on. Strat - Did they have the mirrors for your show?
I found this informative about they show production.Strat wrote:That's unfortunate to hear! Ill be curious how there show in Mpls goes.surfndestroy wrote:Saw them Saturday night. I saw them at an outdoor ampitheatre of roughly 3,000 capacity. So, no. No lights. But the stage show itself was enough. Just incredible.
Do it. Even with the limited light show it is worth it. Just don't expect all his hits. Skinny Love is a rarity, 22 (OVER SooN) is not a set staple. In Vancouver he played the whole new album.bune wrote:inner monologue:
Huh, I wonder if he's coming out here sometime on the tour.
