I watched the directors cut again recently and it is a terrific movie. I think it came out at a time when people were a bit Historical Epic'd out (Troy and Alexander had stunk up the genre the previous year) and I think it get's unfairly lumped in with those movies.
I've wanted to catch the director cut for a while. I kept forgetting. I got all excited cause it was on Showtime or something a few months back but it wasn't the directors. I never watched the theatrical cause almost immediately you heard to wait for the directors cut. I need to watch it. It has Eva Green in it.
