everything is so dark and smokey and hard to see. The joy of the destruction in the first one was how clean and clear it was.


This has done nothing to make me excited for it yet.

What a terrible trailer. I take it the opening bit was made especially for the SUper Bowl and not part of the actual movie? (please tell me thats the case, right?) Why did they do that?

Well if step one of your plot is "aliens come to earth," and you are an unremarkable writer, step two has to either be that the aliens are bad guys or that the humans are.
