I almost picked that up this weekend but I've been skeptical since they lost their guitar player a few years back.

Great record.
This was great, so was the Spacin' album.

The Lavender Flu - S/T (Meds, 2016)
I honestly can't remember the last time a double album really clicked with me. I mean, they're pretty tough to pull off without having some bloat. But this album, as best as I can find has little to no filler. The dude is Chris Gunn, who was in a Portland band called The Hunches back in the 00s. It's tough to listen piecemeal, but as a whole it really opens up and makes sense. It's weird, burnt-out, and trippy but it all works wonderfully.

Outside of David Bowie's Blackstar this is my favorite release of the year. Old school country but done so well.
Margo Price - Midwest Farmer's Daughter.
Hurtin' (On the Bottle)

The new Deftones album is probably the weakest they've ever released.

I gave the new Lumineers album quite a few spins over the weekend. Not too much is catching my ear, and there's some vocal reverb (I think that's what it's called) on the first few tracks that it's distracting. Maybe this album will grow on me, but the back half of the album is just meh.
