It's fair. Sure. I'm kind of surprised you say that though.

Long ago none of that mattered. You sent your postcard in. You got selected or you didn't. Then you showed up early if you could and waited in line to get even better seats.

I don't want to do that anymore but that was legit.

This all changed because the pit jamily put up such a stink about how old members have seen too many shows and are lame up front.

I'm fine with spreading the love but i think you should still be able to see both shows in these cities.

With fan club tickets. It's just - yet another reason - why fan club is becoming more and more pointless.

Which is my fault at this point. I can't quit the crack

I can't quit the crack either but you can see both shows. Tickets will be for sale one way or another. Not like you are completely shut out.

Exactly. Why be snooty about buying public sale tickets?

I never bought tickets through 10C even when I was a member.

It just seems like a hassle, particularly if you only want a single (as I usually do).

The one time I went through 10C for EV solo tickets, they fucked up and charged my card twice.

Who needs 'em.

Oh I'm not snooty guys. Or rather I don't feel snooty or actually upset.

I'm not going to try for public sale for night one because I'm not too excited about needing to spend the money for it. I'm just commiserating on the fall of this fan club to what they used to offer compared to now.

I don't know the numbers in play, but aren't there a LOT more people vying for 10 club tickets now than there were say ten years ago? Even if there are less members, the demand is higher because the tours are shorter.

Everyone has equal odds relative to each other. As someone with a relatively low club number, I'm not thrilled about it, but if I want to attend a show badly enough I will be there. And I honestly don't care where, long as I'm in the building. Great seats are icing on the cake. Great seats = more fun usually, but I'll pay face for a nosebleed and spend the extra $ on beer. I don't care to pay above face to a scalper if I can avoid it.

I don't think pearl jam are worth seeing anymore without great seats. That makes me sound like a first class d bag but it's something I'm working with now. I don't think the money for nose bleeds are worth it.

That being said clearly people get great seats through ticket master so who cares.

We will see how my trip plans out as far as buying tickets for night one!

I'm by no means a 10C apologist (see above) but I think the current ticket drawing system is the least-worst method they've used.

It's relatively painless and largely fair, though I think there's still a fair bit of confusion about how the preference ordering works in practice.

And if you want great seats, you shall have them. There are ways...

It's the easiest and best it's been since having to send in post cards. No doubt.

as much as I hate the jamily - once the lights go out and the music kicks in there really is no other group I'd rather see pj with

I had to do nosebleeds for one of my shows in 2013 or whatever year the last NE tour was. It was a great time nevertheless

I'm buying tickets for 2 of the 3 shows this tour through the general sale. If it all works out, I'll drop my 10C membership. Will be proof enough for me that the membership is pointless.

The band had problems with that. It was well documented.

even if you don't use 10c, you can usually scour the internet and with some persistence, you can find some 10c-er who's got an extra to sell. i was able to snag a GA to worcester that way a few years ago.

I have no problem with the current 10C ticket policy. I typically only go to one show a tour anyway, and so far the lottery thing has worked out for me. As such, I'll be in Philly night 2. See you fuckers there.

Can you sum it up briefly?

Yeah, the band was complaining that all the people in the front rows were lame and just standing there. That is why in 08 (I think) they implemented that "lottery" where a few lucky 10Cer's with higher numbers would win tickets in the front two rows, then they just switched to GA to get rid of the squares altogether.

I was more excited about winning one of my lottery choices than I am about going to the actual concert.

I won the 10th row lottery in Montreal 2011. Asher was impressed.
