Some guy made a request mere hours before the second Fenway show. I felt bad for the guy, but his brief post almost sounded like a parody of the usual ten-paragraph pleas. The gist was: "My friend got hit by a truck please play Come Back for Joe."Birds in Hell wrote:Haha, I think the real stories are much worse!
Using your deceased relative/friend/pet as a bargaining chip to get a song played by your favourite band is just outrageous. Incredible narcissism.

The summer here has been VERY hot. I'm excited for days in the 70s.

Here are the song request threads on the Pit, just from the first two pages, in case you don't want to wander over there:
-Someone has humbly asked that they play Ten in sequence since its 25th anniversary is coming up.
-Unemployable
-Leash and Oceans (because why request one song when you can request 2?)
-Sonic Reducer
-Evil Little Goat, because realistic requests are the best
-Thumbing My Way for someone's dead mom (hey, it worked at Fenway!)
-Strangest Tribe because the poster is dying to hear it (not actually dead like other posts)
-World Wide Suicide and You Are (again, you've gotta ask for two of you think you've got the band's ear)
-Force of Nature
-Crazy Mary because FUCK CANCER
-Just A Girl because why not play all the awful songs?

I kinda like Force of Nature as a request. It's one of those songs that could benefit from being reworked for the live show. Waaay better than Thumbing which kills each and every show its played at (please bore 50,000 people to honor my dead parent!).

Even tho it's not possible, I agree 1000% for Unemployable.

Re: 2016-08-20: Chicago, Illinois
The "Hey, this is a song from a recent album that hasn't been played in a few years, let's bring it back!" threads are a lot less weird then the people who pour out their life stories to ask for a song.
