Bill was never going to do a Sequel. Then Harold died and it went from a 0% probability to a -1,000% probability. I'm fine with a reboot instead of any sequel without Bill and Harold. Absolutely.

The trailer seems to imply that they recognize the events of the first two movies.
I have a feeling that's going to trip up a lot of folks, actually.

Int'l trailer. Works better than the American one, I think.

Back to being cautiously optimistic.

really? I liked Leslie Jones bit more, I thought the Chris Hemsworth logo stuff at the end was funny, and I liked the feel of the movie more.

I still think it looks more cartoonish, the jokes seem rather juvenile, and the crowd surfing rock concert thing was ......eye rolling. I know im so mature....

I dont know. Maybe I just can't get over the fact this isn't the original.

I don't think you're missing anything. I think I'm just able to let go of the original and not compare the two. I also adore this cast and I'm excited to see what it is. It might be a dumpster fire but I haven't seen anything yet that's turned me against it. So my optimism and love for the parties involved trumps any minor misgivings I may have so far.

Ads are tough. There are a ton of great movies that have shitty trailers. I need to see what the thing actually is, y'know.

I think im just not super excited about the cast. That's it. Don't really find most of them funny.

Sure, I get that. Their appeal is a big part of the thing. If you don't like them, it's an uphill battle. Especially as a big fan of the original.

This is a follow on I thought. More sequel but not a reboot. Doesn't it say somethings out 30 years ago blah blah in the trailer?

Yeah, again, I think this is going to confuse a lot of people. We'll see when the movie gets here. But my understanding from interviews and such is that this is a straight reboot. That stuff at the beginning of the trailer is nostalgia bait. It won't be part of the plot, a I understand it.

We'll know which t is of they make constant nods and anks to the originals. I really got the impression it was a follow on though. Just from the way some articles wrote about it more than anything.

And the fact that Dan Aykroyd keeps referring to it as "Ghostbusters 3", and how a bunch of original cast members are making cameos (which, yeah, they could be playing other characters). I was definitely under the impression that it was a sequel.

I'm looking forward to it Eitherway. I've never seen bridesmaids nor care to.
This has to be funny yet operate in a pg13 space. Which is kind of the hardest medium to be funny and entertaining in cos you have to appeal to every age bracket and cover all bases.

I think they can do it.

It looks like all original cast members are playing other characters. Again, just rumor, but it's one of the things that has lead many to believe it's a reboot not so much a sequel.

But we'll have to wait and see. I'd love for it to be more of a continuation/sequel personally.

I'll watch this if someone can edit out McCarthy, Jones, and the 30 minutes of bad improv Feig will leave in.
