Then, when the other guy talks to Box he said he was alone? Isnt it obvious those two had something to do with the murder?
Even if they had nothing to do with the murder, it's going to discredit Bodie's testimony a bit when it comes out that he's lying.

Yeah...but why lie like that? Weird.

I loved that weird feeling of danger in the first episode.

There could be 1000 reasons. Maybe his friend has warrants, maybe he simply doesn't want to name names or be a snitch, maybe he just wants to keep it vague so no one asks too many questions. It was weird, but I assume we'll get the answer eventually.

And yeah, there was danger everywhere, and at so many levels. It was cool the way the anxiety felt relatable for long enough to keep you invested. Ever taken the car without asking your parents? Ever stayed out too late without calling? Ever gotten into a confrontation on the street with some bozos and almost gotten into a fight? Ever had too much to drink, or taken a drink/a pill from someone just because they were cute? Ever jumped into bed with someone way too quickly? By the time we get to "Have you ever woken up to find a dead body and then fled the scene with a bloody weapon in your pocket?" we already see so much of ourselves in Naz that we feel the same thing he feels, even though we've never been to those heights before.

Yeah, they did a great job of capturing the anxiety of Naz...everything seemed menacing and weird and dangerous...well, even Andrea.

Oh, yeah. That look his mom gives when she finds the condoms reveals a lot, and it reflects how I was brought up in some ways: girls can be tricky, be careful of them!

This is the series we needed after Ghostbusters...

Late to the party here but caught up:

- The cat door. Obvious. Who didn't notice that immediately.
- The second eye witness (black weed guy who said he was by himself)...damn they treated him like shit. Almost like a suspect.

Nothing further at this time.

I don't know if the skin condition is symbolic, but it definitely feels more than a quirky character trait, like it may lead to Stone having an eureka moment related to it (along with the cat and the back door).

One thing I noticed is how well they're showing how all this is wearing on Naz. Compare him in the first ep and then with him in the holding cell when the defense attorney quits.

At what cost will Freddy's help be?

I'm still two episodes behind, so I'm not reading through the thread. Just wanted to post two things; sorry if either or both have already been discussed.

1. John Turturro's apartment (in episode 2) is Louis CK's apartment on Louis, right?

2. Collider just posted an article saying HBO is considering a second season with all new characters.

Fucking typical. RIP James Gandolfini :peace: Sorry, pal.

One of the things I picked up on in this episode was the failure of advice from supposed experts. Whether it was Stone's past doctor who was so sure of the crisco treatment, Naz' new "friend" telling him to stay away from Freddy, or Crowe's advice ("let me do the talking" "no eye contact") blowing up in Naz' face with the judge.

One other thought: Was Chandra's plan all along to set things up so she could take over Naz' case?

That's a good pick up.

I don't think it was purposeful for her to takeover Naz' case, but once Stone put the idea in her head that she was a prop, she grew resentful.
