Is it ever referenced in Tarkin whether or not he knows Vader is Anakin?

- Spoiler: show
- he mentions fighting along side Skywalker at some point but Vader is his colleague at this point and features in the book. Can't remember exactly how it's done but you get the impression he knows Vader is Anakin. It's just not something spoken between them.

Thanks.
I need to read that. A buddy of mine has it but I hardly see him anymore.

Well worth reading. One of my favourites of the new canon.

Are there any books (canon or Legends, don't care which) that dive into the ancient Order of the Whills in any real detail?

Only one. An ancient manuscript. Older than recorded time. And rumoured to be written by many speaking through the body of one.
Yeah no. Just the journal of the whills as it was written by George as the basis from Star Wars. . Probably not gonna be in his new museum.

Cool. That's what I figured. But now that the word is officially in the new canon, I was wondering how much of it will be/has been explored.

StarWars.com is excited to announce Inferno Squad, a new novel from Christie Golden coming July 25, about an elite Imperial squad and their mission following the events of Rogue One. While there are more details to come regarding the book, we have a first look at the cover, and the official description below offers a glimpse into what fans can expect:
The Rebellion may have heroes like Jyn Erso and Luke Skywalker. But the Empire has Inferno Squad.
After the humiliating theft of the Death Star plans and the resulting destruction of the battle station, the Empire is on the defensive. In response to this stunning defeat, the Imperial Navy has authorized the formation of an elite team of soldiers, known as Inferno Squad. Their mission: infiltrate and eliminate the remnants of Saw Gerrera’s Partisans. Following the death of their leader, the Partisans have carried on his extremist legacy, determined to thwart the Empire — no matter what the cost. Now, Inferno Squad must prove their status as the best of the best and take down the Partisans from within. But as the danger intensifies and the threat of discovery grows, how far will Inferno Squad go to ensure the safety of the Empire?
Inferno Squad versus the Partisans? Sounds like a classic Star Wars battle in the making.
Stay tuned to StarWars.com for more on Inferno Squad!

What's the point? A New Hope picks up immediately after Rogue One. We already have this story.

I had sorta hoped we'd move out of that whole period. But it is interesting to get a story from the imperial side. Lost stars did that really well. I'd guess this is the last thing we'll get from that section of the story. Even a brief view of the fan base shows you we want to move on.
That said, the Han movie is also going back in that gap between Sith and new hope..so..

This arrived today. I gotta say. It's stunning. An insane amount of detail in each map and millions of cool little nuggets like in Obi wans house, a little chest in the cellar 'keypad safe box containing Obi wans journal with instructions for building a lightsaber'
If you have a spare $20 I can't recommend this enough. I usually ignore all those visual guides and all that stuff. But I saw this in a shop and had to have it. Incredibly good art and amazing detail.
You'll be lost in this for hours. (Jabbas palace map is amaaaaaaaaaazing)
