Although, I have to say I'm over the token shirtless scene they make these guys do. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate it and the effort these guys put in to look that way but it's getting so predictable. They even made poor Paul Rudd do it for Ant Man.
It did seem super forced.

I think my main gripe with this one is the missed opportunities with the set design in the third act. They went to great lengths to make a really visually appealing planet on the outside, but then you have a big climactic battle sequence set inside of that planet, giving them the opportunity to try some cool things, maybe make something with some atmosphere; instead, it just looks like a big sound stage covered in CGI.

Well, i dont know really about that. I guess the ¨story¨ needed that finale...i wasnt that blown away by the colors, and design and stuff...it was just ok.
Ego was cool...I guess this is the only franchise inside Marvel that its trying something a little bit different, and that a bonus. The cast is good...Again, having Kurt Russell helps...that man is such a icon.

perhaps it was a metaphor for Ego; colorful and appealing on the outside, cold and full of death on the inside

I think I would enjoy the Guardians movies, a lot more, if all the other Marvel movies, were not so joke heavy. This is the one movie, that the cast just is funny in general, a human lost in space, a talking raccoon, a walking talking tree, so on... but all the Marvel movies, the main characters are all so "funny" that by the 2nd baby Groot joke I was over it.

Its honestly how I feel watching Marvel movies lately. Its so, sentence, joke, comeback. Its like, they don't know how to write dialogue, without having spaces left for jokes.
