FWIW the lawyer questioning Dr. Ford is going to question Kavanaugh, too--was wondering about that all week, it would have looked awful if the GOP decided not to speak to her but spoke directly to him.

This is one of several polls out today that were taken in the period just before a second woman came forward. Both show a two point widening, and almost all of the change is on the part of married white women, who have long been the only subgroup of women that are reliably conservative. Now, split almost evenly between the two parties. Meanwhile, the RNCC is cutting funds to a half dozen House races it now believes are lost, and transitioning those funds to other races that it didn’t previously expect to be competitive.

If they picked this interviewer because of her slut shame tactics, they...chose poorly.

That’s so big and over the top that it runs the risk of overshadowing other claims. You’d realllly better not make a single mistake (or be provably wrong), or it will be seen as damaging to everyone else.

Lying about being a virgin for "many years" is pretty ballsy. All it takes is for one 1983 hook up to call bullshit.

This moment in the New Yorker story seems particularly relevant, all of the sudden:
After seeing Judge’s denial, Elizabeth Rasor, who met Judge at Catholic University and was in a relationship with him for about three years, said that she felt morally obligated to challenge his account that “ ‘no horseplay’ took place at Georgetown Prep with women.” Rasor stressed that “under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t reveal information that was told in confidence,” but, she said, “I can’t stand by and watch him lie.” In an interview with The New Yorker, she said, “Mark told me a very different story.” Rasor recalled that Judge had told her ashamedly of an incident that involved him and other boys taking turns having sex with a drunk woman.

Sounds like the president is beginning to think that he could help save Kavanaugh by weighing in more forcefully. So that seems guaranteed to be a disaster.

If I recall, “all of the sudden” predates Shakespeare’s original “a sudden” in print by several years. Also it’s a message board.
