Has Canada opened an Israeli front, or has Israel open a Canadian front?
The language strikes me as a bit odd, but then I'm sure US press releases during GWOT probably used similar verbiage.

Fewer. that number was from an op-ed about potential long terms effects but reported with headlines that framed it as the true current count.

Foreign Nationals in Lebanon being told to evacuate. Turkey is making noises again. Have we removed the nukes from İncirlik yet?

Heh.
Sounds like Israel has given certain assurances that they won't bomb the airport and their previous stated aims of pushing Hezbollah back to North of the Litani will be the maximum extent of what they do (if that). We are 9 months post 10/7 and Gaza is still pretty active, so I don't know if they are truly optimistic they can force that sort of thing by military means.

I get that the Israelis were more or less okay with the status quo, but the Palestinians looked at the Camp David accords, looked at Israeli demographics and thought they could get a better deal later on? Good luck everyone, you all suck.

Israel took out a Hamas official in Tehran (confirmed) in an airstrike (claimed). I guess that's a signal for Iran to not get directly involved with whatever they're going to do in Lebanon.

Mahmoud Zahar and Abu Marzook should also be mentioned.
Marwan Issa is probably dead.

In addition, Salah al-Arouri is dead.

Seems prudent, and I'm curious how these decisions get made. Do the airlines get pinged by their insurance carrier/ in-house actuary?

they usually get "notices" from the state department. their carriers have no say whatsoever (other than when it comes time to contest a claim or negotiate a policy extension).

NOTAMs would apply to all carriers. Why would something triggered by the state department not result in FAA (or their international partners) just closing the entire airspace?

wait, what are we talking about? i interpreted your question as whether a carrier can dictate to its insured how it operates. is that not what you were asking?

On how they decide when to cancel flights on the edge cases when they aren't technically prohibited to use the airspace (FAA NOTAMs), and other carriers are still operating in the area.
Per your above, State Department can issue prohibitions with similar weight, but that only apply to domestic carriers. Seems strange to do that without looping in the FAA and their partner organizations.

your first question mentioned "insurance carrier." your follow-up refer to airline carriers.
