I thought it wasn’t that bad, ed sounds weird tho.
Wish dm sounded more like this, production seems ok here.

This and Riot Act have the best sonic space of the records I think. Slight edge to No Code.

One of their best. Sometimes is such a unique opener (up there with Can't Keep) followed by the power of Hail Hail, which is just a great rock song on every level.

The first listen to Off He Goes was so powerful for me that each one that followed was a diminishment, to the point I grew tired of the song, it wasn't till years later I could appreciate it anew.

Present Tense is one of their best songs, simple truth delivered with heavy crunchy guitars and groove and a memorable outro, the thoughtful power of Who You Are, the lullaby ending, it's great start to finish.

A handful songs would have made it better.

All Night
Brain of J
Black Red Yellow
Dead Man

I remember reading on the Italian site that Parting Ways was recorded for No Code. Yellow Ledbetter and Hard to Imagine as well. The link to that site seems to be dead.

I know. It’s interesting if they re-recorded it for the next few albums after that. I think that site listed Yellow Ledbetter as being recorded during each of the Vs, Vitalogy and No Code sessions but I could be misremembering. Who knows whether or not that site was accurate?

They could’ve done a 20 song double album.

Is a self-indulgent epic double album not the last thing missing from their resume?

They should have done this with Binaural
