So, I do like S/T a lot, but I definetely don't believe that it's better than No Code or Vitalogy. Vitalogy has several tracks (like Pry, To or Bugs) that really aren't made for this kind of rating but are actually really fun in the context of the album so they shouldn't really affect the album rating this way and in No Code the full album experience adds a lot to my feelings of the album. (same with Riot Act) Also, Vs shouldn't be lower than S/T, but my only explanation is that my ratings were kinda rushed.

I don't think my individual song ratings will ever accurately represent how I feel about each album as a whole. Albums are more than mere song folders, they have (or should have) a vibe and feeling in and of themselves beyond just the songs. It's the sequencing, the tones captured, etc.

Not counting certain songs that I look at more like album enhancements rather than stand alone songs, distinctions that I recognize may be totally arbitrary

I'm being conservative with these. On a different day everyone's scores might go up a bit, but probably distributed evenly across the albums.

Binaural's got a lot of songs I just don't really care much for.

I also only have 3 albums where the average score is 4 of above.

I agree with this, although as luck would have it my general impressions of the albums tend to map onto the individual song preferences. There are albums that are greater than the sum of their parts, but not to the point that it would move them past another album in my internal rankings

The only b-sides I'd give 5 stars to are Breath and ledbetter, so I guess throwing them in the mix gets my top 17.

So my rating averages work out to the following ranking, which is very close to my real ranking:

I would put No Code above Vitalogy, but other than that, I think this might be right.

This is the stupidest way to analyze an album.
