I thought it was really disappointing. It was just bad, not bad in a good way.

The only two things I liked were:
Spoiler: show
Seeing Cousin Oliver from The Brady Bunch, and the epic chainsaw scene.
If you want to see a really good bad movie, watch Birdemic: Shock and Terror. It's on Netflix streaming.

Good question. I don't know. It looked good. There is certainly a lot to nitpick. Character decisions and personalities. The timeline. As much as I love the first two Alien movies the questions this movie answers weren't things I really thought I needed to know(i.e. who is the space jockey? where do the xenomorphs come from?). The one question I wanted answered was the one they left for the sequel. I guess I know the reasons the architects did what they did but I don't know.....blah. I would watch the next one if they make it but I would probably wait till it comes on HBO like I did for this one.

Its good? The only reason I've seen for going to watch it is the fact that Charlie day is in it

Harakiri-Fucking amazing. One of the best Japanese movies I've ever seen.

Sexy Beast-Also great, wish I hadn't waited so long to watch it.

I completely agree! Criterion just came out with a new Eclipse collection of four of that director's movies. Masaki Kobayashi. They also have a few of his movies on regular Criterion, and some of his earlier stuff available exclusively on Hulu Plus. The Human Condition and Kwaidan, of the ones I've seen, are especially good. Kobayashi is an underrated gem of Japanese cinema.

Sexy Beast is so fantastic. Intense little film. Kinda fucked me up. At least, I felt the theater with more bruises than I entered with. Glad you finally saw it, and I'm even more glad that you liked it. But I figured you would. You've got great taste.
