I talk to my Dad about once a week too. I talk to my little siblings on Skype every other day. Doesn't seem excessive to me.

Once I get my folks into a text conversation, there's no turning back. The Sunday phone call at least has defined parameters.

I only call my mum when I feel the kids should chat with her. My old man usually texts every week or so about sport but we can go months without talking.

Almost every Saturday I do a three-way Skype call with my sister who lives in LA, my brother who lives in NY, and my Dad who lives in Colombia. If my two youngest siblings are with my Dad they'll usually join in as well. It's a pretty important part of my week, tbh.
