That's been Belichik's MO for years. If he traded Brady to Cleveland for the #1 pick I wouldn't be shocked at all (not that I think it will happen, just that it wouldn't be totally shocking).
i'm referring to the trading jimmy g move. the packers didn't trade rodgers.
It's really hard to fairly compare the Pats situation to any other team; their run is unmatched in the NFL and the dynamics of putting team above all else has worked out pretty well for them.

The Pats have dealt away plenty of stars in Milloy, Seymour, Collins, Branch, Chandler Jones, etc. They've made plenty of "baller" moves.
That's a fair point; the Packers' may've felt more pressure to yield to Favre's demands had he led them to a SB victory the year before.

Still, it's a huge gamble to put all your chips on a 40 year old football player playing for several more seasons. BB must be fuming.
No doubt, if I had it my way this season would be Brady's last in New England and we'd begin next season with Jimmy G. Now we've got to draft another QB and hope we strike gold again. Still, I've been guilty of slamming the Pats for giving up on players in their prime, so what do I know.
Kraft's turning into Jerry Jones.

Someone ran into Brady at practice and he jammed his throwing hand.

I’ve really been trying to soak it in and cherish this Team this year because I feel like this run only has a couple more years tops in it. Been watching all kinds of clips on YouTube lately of the early years of the Brady/Belichick Era.

Me, too.

After they won 3 out of 4, my hope, given Brady's youth, was that they'd capture 4 more SBs for 7, which would unseat the Steelers for most titles all-time. When the drought ended, it felt like that was back on the table a little bit. A lot will have to go in their favor, but it's still possible. Which is crazy.

Yeah, I’m kind of the same. After the 2nd loss to the Giants, 5 was what I really wanted, but now I want 7 badly. Kind of like how I’m salivating over that perfect season, we are so spoiled.

yes, caveat to all of this is that we are spoiled. and another caveat, as a kid I watched several 1-15 shit seasons. And that 46-10 loss to the Bears sucked pretty bad. I remember watching that game.

I fully admit that most of -- if not ALL of -- my issues with the Pats are envy based. I can't imagine what it would be like to have such a dominant franchise to root for. It's literally incredible. I would never want it to end, either. I get it.

Hopefully, Sunday's game is another phenomenal one for you.

In the last couple years I've started to recognize how spoiled we are and try to keep that in mind. It really has been amazing, when I first started watching this team they were the laughingstock of the NFL and now they are the greatest franchise in the history of the league.

It's a hell of a story. We'll probably never see anything like it in football again in our lifetimes.
