Just heard Mani ftom the Stone Roses died the other day. Well, fuck.

Yeah, and very sad circumstances, given his wife's death two years ago.

I met him once when he was touring with Primal Scream. I was a teenage stranger and he threw his arm around my shoulders and chatted to me like I was his best mate and insisted on introducing me to the other guys he was hanging out with, including MBV's Kevin Shields.

As everyone universally has said, an incredibly nice guy.

That's a cool story. Yeah, I'd only ever heard nice things about him. Apparently 12 year old twins now orphaned. Sad.

The Stone Roses debut is one of my all time fave albums. Mani and Reni were a killer groove section.

“Fools Gold” is the one that got me into them and “Waterfall” is great but “I Am the Resurrection” is probably a top 10 all time song for me.

I think Paddy recommended I listen to the Stone Roses and I have cursed myself every day since that I did not discover them in their prime.

I know it is cliche but I Wanna Be Adored is just amazing. the slow guitar intro into the drums. simple lyrics that are amplified by incredible musicianship these guys provide.

This is the One and She Bangs the Drum should also get honorable mentions as bangers
