It's less serious because since mass protests almost always take place outdoors, on the merits they were correct that the BLM protests were no big deal. But they should have also been more charitable to the action (without needing to endorse the message) of the anti-covid restriction protests that happened just before Floyd's death.

I got distracted and couldn't write more.

But in the beginning, the message seemed to be that we didn't think that masks did much in the way of protection and the fear that was by endorsing them you would encourage people to do more risky behaviors than they would otherwise.

That's a lot different than "masks are terrible."

My county is about 31% fully vaccinated. We also have a lot of out of staters working at the cracker plant here. I don’t trust large crowds just yet. Maybe I will eventually but it is kind of my decision
