What? I generally hate too many explosions. That newer Superman movie sucked because of it. And Arrival was the best alien-themed movie in over a decade, so you must have me confused with someone else.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:not enough explosions?E.H. Didn't hate this, but it's pretty forgettable overallbune wrote:Watched the Tarzan movie this weekend. What a bland everything. And the joke choices...why did you put a joke in there about a grown man licking a gorilla's nuts? And then call back to it at the end with the bro hug joke? WTF were they thinking.
The part where Waltz and Robbie were eating had a joke(?) that you'd only get if you were very familiar with Victorian eating niceties: if you didn't like your meal you left your silverware on the plate. She did this, and Waltz's character huffily took her silverware and put them on the side of her plate, which is what you do if you enjoyed the meal. I appreciate the attention to detail, but I didn't get it until I just happened to be reading the IMDB page.
Lots of individual parts that seemed interesting but the whole was just so underwhelming.

There's actually less ape action than you'd think, It was more in the flashbacks than in the 'present'-day parts. Though that's hardly a reason to decide to see it.BurtReynolds wrote:Never saw that one. I think apes make me uncomfortable.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.
I've seen more on this list than I care to admitbune wrote:There's actually less ape action than you'd think, It was more in the flashbacks than in the 'present'-day parts. Though that's hardly a reason to decide to see it.BurtReynolds wrote:Never saw that one. I think apes make me uncomfortable.
Thank God for libraries, I'm seeing a ton of crappy movies this year for free because of them.

The real trick is picking the worst. I'd have to say it's a tie between Joy and Avengers Grimm. Joy has the slight edge of it's a complete crap movie from some (sometimes) talented people but Avengers Grimm is from The Asylum and stars Casper Van Dien and Lou Ferrigno and several softcore models.tragabigzanda wrote:Every single one of those looks absymal!bune wrote:There's actually less ape action than you'd think, It was more in the flashbacks than in the 'present'-day parts.
