Interesting tidbit. As far as I'm aware, and I could well be wrong, Boom is pretty much nothing more than a touring member, he hasn't had any notable recorded contributions since Riot Act, so there's no reason to assume he wouldn't be, but I was listening to Marc Maron's pod with Josh Klinghoffer (recently binned Chili Pepper) today and he (Maron) mentioned that Klinghoffer would be doing some stuff on stage with PJ on this upcoming tour as well as opening.

Could just be a throwaway comment with zero truth in it, but if this was the case I can't see any need for a 4th guitarist onstage, and given that the guys album he's touring behind is basically piano/keyboard based songs, maybe there's something there. Perhaps I've just become a mad Pit conspiracy theorist.

100% agree. i wondered if the lack of stone on the last record was more of he just didn't come with anything good enough (Let the Records play can attest to that theory) or was this a case of Ed controlling things too much.

I mentioned this a years ago and got chastised for it.

well, i don't know what your thoughts on it are, but a couple friends and i agree that, for example, Infallible sounds much better live than on the record. maybe given the prickly relationship i have with DOTC illustrates why i personally feel that way but Infallible feels a bit heavier (not just guitar wise). it feels like it has a little more umph to it. to a lesser extent in the same way the modern live version of No Way does. so perhaps the more electronic centric songs on this record will find a more organic balance in the live setting. plus if Klinghoffer actually is going to chime in here or there we could see something quite interesting.

Probably. But based on the strength of Dance, I'm hoping that "straight ahead rock" is more Insignificance/Ghost, and that "ballads" are more Fatal/All Or None.
