i thought it was, boo whoo whoo lol. i guess it can be seen as anti-segregation in that sense. 'we all did what we could do' could be anti-segregationist actions. i never thought i'd be analyzing 'sweet home alabama's' lyrics like this lol.
why do you think the guy needed three steps? would't 4 steps towards the door be better? who is linda lou representing?

Maybe 3 steps got him to the door and he didn’t need 4?
Linda Lou probably represents the girl he was dancing with at The Jug. That whole song was supposed be something that actually happened.

A couple nights ago I went to see the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra. It's funny how after each movement, half the audience will erupt in applause and the other half will annoyedly shush them. It becomes its own kind of musical thing punctuating the piece
