yeah i've seen it once before and enjoyed it, though i don't remember a lot of details about it

it's been awhile since i've seen a woody allen film...there's actually quiet a few of his now on netflix streaming, prime, crackle, etc... that i've never seen

Watching The Godfather for the first time in years. A few things that have struck me so far:

1. There is some clunky expository dialogue in the beginning. Kay literally asks stuff like "Who is he? What's his name?" and "What's a consigliere?"

2. The sequence when Tom Hagen goes to Hollywood is sloppy. The introduction of the horse is awkward and on-the-nose.

3. I don't think this movie gets recognized for how fast-paced it is. The events move by very briskly.

Also, the "Coppola Restoration" Blu-ray transfer is a noisy mess.

Is this the greatest cast ever assembled? Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan, John Cazale, Diane Keaton, Robert Duvall, Sterling Hayden...holy shit.

The restaurant scene is still one of the greatest ever.

Brando's reaction to hearing Michael killed Salozzo is devastating.

I love the scene when Michael visits Corleone.

"Where are all the men?"
"They're all dead from vendettas."

Oof.

Man, Part II just grinds the pacing to a halt.

Watched the first two recently - haven't found the time to sit down and watch the third one yet

The "It was an abortion!" scene in Godfather II is one of the most melodramatic and embarrassing things I think I've ever seen in a movie. Yeesh.

"It was an abortion, Michael! Just like our marriage is an abortion! Something that's unholy and evil!"

How did dialogue like that actually make it to the screen?
