Nice read, thanks for posting. It’s probably true that all to be said about Nick Drake by the people who knew him has already been said. There doesn’t seem to be any more of his beautiful story to be made public other than what we already know. What would really be amazing is if one day, moving video of him performing or even just video of him living his life were to be uncovered. As of now, only still photographs of the man are known to exist.

Or his home demos from the masters released. Great stuff only available on bootlegs and sometimes incomplete (Place To Be, damnit).

Today I actually listened to the latest Offspring album, the one that came out a couple months ago. Yes, as expected it is putrid, beyond shitty, absolute bottom of the barrel. But there's one song that caught my attention.
The production is so plasticky it makes Dark Matter sound like Blonde on Blonde but the song has a classic-rock swagger I didn't expect from them. It even interpolates the "Carry On My Wayward Son" riff towards the end.

In the ‘90’s the Trans-Siberian Orchestra had a semi-hit with their version of “Carol of the Bells.”
Wondering if “Block Rockin’ Beats” by the Chemical Brothers counts? It has a vocal sample but won an instrumental grammy, so…? I imagine there are probably some other things from that era/genre too…
