Basically yeah. though any slave system has to support its slaves (which is one of the negatives of slavery). Once the social credit system is fully implemented, the only real requirements for the pets (in our sector at least) is that they be good little consumers and don't say anything bad about the government.

Burt turns and looks out the window at the livestock in the field with a smile.
*Porno for Pyros plays*
The camera zooms in on Burt's face as he slowly relaxes from a smile to a flat, thoughtful gaze.

The most logical post you’ve made in a very long time

It's pretty telling as the difference between a pet and a slave is an acknowledgement of sapience and rationality by the owner.

Yeah, that's not wrong, but they were also forced to find a balance between responding to the crisis and dealing with a President who wouldn't hesitate to cripple the CDC if they were too alarmist.
Then you wouldn't have a slow to respond CDC. You'd have a completely silent CDC.

They couldn't have sent nasty grams shutting down university/ private testing if they were silent. We intentionally crippled testing capacity for months. There was no point in attempting contact tracing without rapid, widespread testing.
They used their normal playbook of waiting months or years for approval for anything. That barely works for normal ailments. It does not work for novel viruses.

I can't really argue against that, but they were worse than normal in 2020.

I've said this from the start. If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.
Vaccine refusers should be last in line for limited medical resources

They floated this idea in the US for denying coverage for Covid related hospital stays for the unvaccinated. It gets quite a bit creepier when you have socialized medicine and you are suggesting refusing medical treatment entirely.
This whole movement makes me hope they slow roll full approval. If Eric Topol thought emergency use authorization was too risky back in october, why should full approval be reasonable now after those documented inflammatory responses?
Of course they won't because the FDA will find their balls after 18 months of floundering.
