We all have different backgrounds and different life experiences, and that gives us different perspectives. What is right for one is not right for another. But we have to live together. That makes life hard, but it also makes life beautiful.

And we all need to have the basic understanding that words do not condone violence. Which is why speech is legal and violence is not. There are certain rules we follow that we all understand benefit us all.

I was really hoping for more than "boys rational / objective; girl irrational / emotional", but you took it there, nice
uhh.. did i say that? lmao, you are irrational, but not necessarily because of your sex or gender or skin color or anything

we've been over this... you refuse to walk us through your thought process. You say feelings trump all. If someone feels victimized, they have been victimized, right?
you literally just said that, yes

my feelings, like everyone's feelings here, have development over time, just like everyone's here

I've unpacked why any how I think the joke was loaded and hurtful, and suggested some reasons why; I've provided articles on that, and I've supported other articles posted by one or two others

nobody here has provided any more "data" to support their positions than I have; you said that the joke wasn't offensive because bald chicks are hot, Spike has said... well, literally nothing but that I'm wrong and stupid

I'm fine, I can live with the work I've done here, even the hilariously drunk and inarticulate stuff; I'm human :)

I think my position is obvious now; anyone with a problem can deal with it on their own

yep, absolutely

these were very like Tree's words to me a few days ago

I don't care who disagrees with me; I do care that things I think or say aren't mocked and called uneducated or unreasonable; one is debate, the other is bullying

You’re worried about being bullied while defending Will Smith going out of his way to smack the shit out of another man for making a joke he didn’t like. Wow.

I, for one, think you've mostly put together a mostly coherent argument, Ms Harmless. The insistence that it be based on facts or whatever is nonsense. This whole thing is about feelings. This whole thread is fifty pages of feelings.
Tree, you have to get over that she disagrees with you that violence is never warranted. That's not an ironclad law of the universe. She thinks it is sometimes warranted. Deal with it! Legality does not equal morality. Illegality does not equal immorality. Deal with it!

Whew. Wee. You misunderstand SO MUCH. Let's go through this...

How did I literally say men are rational and women are unrational? I said YOU are irrational, I used "she", because that's the appropriate pronoun, right? ... Are you ALL women..??? And are me and spike ALL men?!?

I never said your feelings are not valid. But if you want to explain a rational position on a matter, you need to make sense.

Here's data: VIOLENCE IS ILLEGAL, SPEECH IS NOT

and gee wiz, I didn't say "bald chicks are hot"... I said what Chris Rock said is you look like that girl from the movie, who is attractive.. and that if he wanted to hurt her feelings, it'd be wayyyyy easier to do that by comparing her to an ugly bald person or animated character... that's pretty logical to me. When you say somebody feels something is enough to conclude they are right about something, you cannot be more illogical, I do not care how you feel about that. Because, just think of all the mental disorders people can have. What kind of world would that be where they are always right? Just crazy town.

Chris Rock is a bully, so yeah

if you'd call them both bullies, that's reasonable, but just Will? nah

Rock bullied, Will reacted

I have one story in my life of getting back at a bully; it's a good story lol
