Spielberg is just a wannabe JJ Abrams now, who is just a wannabe Spielberg. He's done.

The structure and composition in Road Warrior is incredibly special. Its the most special there is.

I would like to see Spielberg go back to making pointless adventure movies again. This dark historical crap he's been putting out just isn't working. I'm not sure the cinematic equivalent of pro wrestling (FandF) is really suited for him, though. SOmething with kids would be better.

Might be alright, if he can resist filming it like he did with Bridge of Spies.

Speilberg is such a classic example of dininished abilities. He feels increasingly rote as a storyteller, except with action, where he now sucks.

I really need to see Bridge of Spies. I'm hoping it's better than Lincoln, which was a real slog. I'm not ready to give up on Spielberg.

How bad was that scene on the train at the end of Bridge of Spies? Just terrible. Terrible. Its like a spoof movie. He really just hammers you in the face with it.

The line between spoof and serious effort are so blurred these days it's hard to say. There is even a movie coming out called Independence Day 2, and no one is laughing.

I dont find Road Warrior to be that special. I agree with LV, he sure know how to frame and how to shoot some cool scenes. But thats about it.
And the last Mad Max was just...boring.

McTiernan or Harlin would do an amazing job with F&F, way better than Miller.
