Like Clockwork is different from the rest of queens in a way that I'm not sure I can deal with.

QOTSA were pretty good on Saturday even with Josh's voice failing halfway through. Chemistry and I Appear Missing were epic. Plus they dropped a few treats in Parasol and In The Fade (couldn't believe that one). The only issue for me was the mix had way too much snare (Jon likes a tight almost wireless sound) with not enough kick. This lost a lot of the syncopation. Josh was quite apologetic about his sickness and I feel that Queens will prob come back to Newie next time.

NiN was a strange affair as they did half electro straight up and then half band with kit. This is not how they did Sydney apparently. It was like two different bands and a mate who's seen all 3 aust shows so far was pissed off big time. He felt Trent didn't really show up for the regional show. It was good in parts but took a long time to get off the ground.

Hey mate, sorry to hear that Josh was sick and NIN were underwhelming in Newie. I was very jealous when I saw the QOTSA setlist you got though! So many lesser played gems in there. How was No One Knows in the encore? It's been stranded in the number 2 slot for ages and feeling a bit stale...

Sydney night 2 was awesome - same setlist as Friday posted earlier but with Avon, Kalopsia and I Appear Missing instead of LC, Fairweather Friends, 3s & 7s and Chemistry. They are such a well oiled machine this tour and sounded great from the pit - their guitar tones are just perfect. Josh was super smooth pausing halfway through Tail to tell off a security guard (classic Josh) and then effortlessly entering back into the song.

Man the crowd were rough - circle of death and all that shit. Not feeling too old for GA, just wish people were there more for the music than to release pent-up testosterone bashing into strangers.

Hadn't seen NIN before so didn't really know what to expect, but colour me impressed. Trent really animates the songs and gets a huge wall of sound out of only 3 other guys on stage (loops, beats and other pre-recorded stuff helps I guess). His wife came out and sang a couple of How To Destroy Angels songs which was cool.

Both bands have been mixing up their setlists a lot I see - hopefully some collaboration (Trent on Kalopsia? Brodie on Killer Scene?) will happen later in the tour

Sounds like a good one, Brad.

The gigs were still good, just not as good as they could have been.

I'm quite excited to be going to the QOTSA side show in a couple of weeks. 2 hours of just QOTSA and no supports apparently.

Adamdude did you get tickets?

Sounds good, I probably would've jumped at a Queens show but I'm not terribly interested in seeing NIN.

I like NIN but I would have preferred that. Don't be surprised, though, if Brody plays a twenty minute set beforehand.

In other news, Perth got Misfit Love and I Appear Missing last night. :bammer:

If I was in Perth I absolutely would have checked out QotSA. But I can't justify airfares to see them unfortunately. Bummer.
