I want to soooo badly. I'm going to visit my Mom tomorrow in NM. Maybe if she wants to see it, I'll check it out. Otherwise it'll have to be August sometime. My calendar is about to get fuuuuull, y'all.

But it's on my list. I'll see it.

I completely agree! Criterion just came out with a new Eclipse collection of four of that director's movies. Masaki Kobayashi. They also have a few of his movies on regular Criterion, and some of his earlier stuff available exclusively on Hulu Plus. The Human Condition and Kwaidan, of the ones I've seen, are especially good. Kobayashi is an underrated gem of Japanese cinema.

Yeah I immediately added a lot of his stuff to my queue to check out. I honestly liked Harakiri more than some of the big Kurosawa movies. And Nakadai might be on my shortlist for greatest actor ever after seeing him in this, The Sword of Doom, The Face of Another and a few others.
