I got off work at midnight (or later) for much of the '00s and would listen to Coast to Coast on the way home. It was a niche show but he was very good at what he did. I still tune in from time to time when I'm out super late and it's hasn't been the same since he hung up the headset. Of course he would die on a Friday the 13th. I hope he's at peace; I know his life off the air was chaotic at times.

He was super entertaining. I didn't listen to his show all the time, but I listened a lot in the late 90s/ early 00s.

For the first two years of high school my evening night owl routine was get off work at 10, get my brothers ready for bed, make a late supper, watch Star Trek and Rush Limbaugh’s TV show, then go to bed and listen to Art Bell for hours.

Woulda been immortal for Full Metal Jacket alone. But I loved how he ended up just being this classic go-to guy for such roles, in front of or behind the camera.

That Full Metal Jacket part is one of the iconic roles in the Kubrick library which tells you something right there. I didn't realize he was only in his early 40s when they filmed it.

Night Court plays an important part in my family's lore because my parents didn't have a name picked out for my younger brother when he was born, so they picked their favorite character from Night Court since it was on in the recovery room. I've still never watched a single episode, though.
