Love kristi. And storm.

I need to listen more to the other album...it would be so cool to have an album of instrumentals and outtakes from pj...

really love this set, it's nice to have them all compiled in good quality.
The linernotes by Kim are really good, he explains how this set was compiled.
When I saw the tracklist I was suprised that 'karaoke' was not on disc 1 (the originals), he explains that there are two reasons for this:
1) There wasn't space on disc 1 (its 77 min now)
2) Both Karaoke and Black Days III were pre-production demos featuring only Matt and Chris, and therefore also fitted the 'oddities' category.

He also mentioned that Disc 1 (the originals) wil get a stand alone release, also on vinyl, in the near future.

It also seems that the vault is pretty much emptied now. The only thing he speaks about in interview is the pre-Matt era outtakes (like the re-recorded 'Storm').

Thanks for posting this, joostone.

I'd be surprised if there weren't more alternate takes archived.

True. Alternate takes are always a possibility. But unreleased songs are far from likely.
So far we know that Kim is looking for a record company to re-release the remixed and remastered 'Ultramega OK'. But other than that, not sure if the Superunknown remaster sold well. Because if it didn't it will become less likely to see other A&M remasters (louder through < > DOTU)

how cool is that Karaoke is a song with just the two of them?

Goddamn....Cornell is such a great guitar player.

What else is interesting in the liner notes? Does he go song by song?

No, he doesn't. He gives an interesting perspective on the whole thing. That the idea to collect all the 'orphans' songs on one Soundgarden disc was both his and the fans wish. He mentioned stuff like: the female vocals on Touch me were done by Bruce Fairweather's wife (of M love bone fame). That 'night surf' was the intro music to all of their shows on the superunknown tour. It was a fun read.

im not a big fan of their b sides from the early days. They are clearly lower quality material when you compare them with the songs in the albums.

Their b sides from BMF to DOTU are impressive...every one of them is a great great song.

Oh, and Live To Rise is really fun.

Keep trying with Heretic and Toy Box. And you gotta love Sub Pop Rock City.

They do need to bring back Holy Water.

I won't be able to catch the side show which is a shame. Let me know if you go to the Syd SW.

I don't think my bank account will stretch to me seeing them three times unfortunately. :(

My Soundwave ticket arrived today, really looking forward to seeing these guys again.

I very much wish I could make it over for one of the headlining shows but it's not in the cards right now, alas.

Assuming Matt's back, these shows could be great. They've got the full crew back again and hopefully will play a couple of the Echos tracks.
