I watched Magic Mike XXL last night. I think it was probably the worst movie I've seen in a really long time and I've been watching a lot of Hallmark Christmas movies lately so...
And no, the hot bods did not make up for the bad writing, pacing and surprisingly, dancing.

Manchester by the Sea was great. It was over two hours, but it went by very fast and I want it to be even longer. Casey Affleck was devastating. Great movie

The Nice Guys.
Watched it again...in the theatre i thought it was a barely ok movie, a pale b side to the great Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. This time i actually appreciate it more...Gosling and Crowe and amazing, the little kid is great and the plot was a little more gracious this time. Cool movie.
Oh, and the soundtrack.

LoathedVermin72 wrote:War Dogs was bad; just a lazy, limp retread of The Wolf of Wall Street and Pain & Gain. But Jonah Hill and Bradley Cooper are great in it. Miles Teller was a wooden plank next to them.
this, but i did enjoy it.

He's terrible. I actively avoid movies he's in when possible.

Watched Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban again last night. What a wonderful film. It gets better every time I watch it.

My wife started working through them yesterday. I came home to the final 30 mins of Chamber, then watched all of Prisoner. Might watch Goblet tonight.

Office Christmas Party was surprisingly funny - i did laugh quite a bit, pretty hard at a couple scenes - but the ratio of hit to miss jokes wasn't that great.

Ended up continuing the Christmas movie watching last night with Home Alone. Tonight Batman Returns. Somewhere in the next couple of weeks will be Love Actually and Die Hard

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Some people think movies with snow are Christmas movies. I don't understand it either.
