This was the third or fourth year in a row where almost all of my new album listening was either jazz or familiar rock artists. It’s probably time to make a conscious effort to break this pattern, but these were probably my most played albums, no particular order. I admittedly keep way worse track of this than I used to.

I think it's because I listen to stacks of 60s/70s instrumental soundtracks and library music and then chuck that stuff on radio mode on Spotify.
Anyway, how's that Chelsea Wolfe album?
I used to really dig Apokalypsis when it came out but have struggled to enjoy her stuff since.
It's dark and moody with trip-hop-esque textures and some industrial-adjacent tones. A beautiful and haunting headphones album for sure. It certainly won't be for everyone, but I find her to be so insanely underrated.

I think the music evolutions are mostly because of playlists I used for going to bed. I think that's how Khruangbin and The Budos Band are up on that list.
