I didn't expect it be a 10 minute epic though. It takes you places.

And lets you stay there for a while. It's long pop song.

I couldn't do it. I caved. Speaking of which, I can't believe Jeff duets with Nick Cave on here.

I'm enjoying the Dennis Rodman spoken-word piece more than anything else.

I thought it was supposed to be Nick Drake?

It's Nick Cave and Nick Drake. The latter just has such a delicate voice I couldn't hear him initially.

Y'know that part where it sounds like a second, and then a third drummer come in? Well someone who works for a major music publication and has access to the liner notes told me it's actually Jack and Dave A. on the track playing along with Matt. They're bringing all three of them on the road with them this fall, but they want it to be a surprise.

Saw an instagram from one of the songs. Ed's doing that thing with his eyes again.

'Put on your best dress darlin'. Can't you see the time is right. There will never be another tonight.'

I can't believe they cover Bryan Adams, that's got to have been BO'B's influence.

And how about that 2 minute rap breakdown? Stone's got rhyming skillz.

What's weird is that if you didn't know which one came first, you'd think it was Bryan Adams covering Pearl Jam and not the opposite. That's how well the cover works.

Stone's rhyming skills are undoubtedly top notch, but the part where he starts "murdering" every other member of Pearl Jam a la Eminem and then fantasizes about having an threesome with Oprah and Michelle Obama on top of a pile of money just made me uncomfortable.

I totally agree. And despite the relative comedy of a song by Adams appearing on the record, I love how they keep it sonically consistent with the rest of the album by carrying on the singing siren-like guitar which recurs throughout this record. True return to form, and I look forward to seeing what they've got in them from this point on (even if it's yucky).
