How'd your dinner go, Joe? How was the "guest"?

You know, it was actually really great. She arrived a little later than everyone else. So, there was already a lot going on, drinks had been consumed, I was elbow deep in helping my wife finish the turkey and the setting up. Other than one brief conversation right after diner while I was doing dishes, I barely spoke to her. When we did speak it was pleasant enough.

I had a blast reconnecting with everyone else. There was much laughter and great conversation. The food, as always, was outstanding. She left early. At the tale end of the night, my friend Nick, who had never really hung out with her before, said she was pretty insufferable and he wanted to tell her to stop talking multiple times.

But all was pleasant. No drama. And I got super emotional, as usual. I just love Thanksgiving. My friends are my family, so it was just lovely.

How was your Thanksgiving?

Not bad. Met the in-laws in Knoxville for a riverboat dinner. Food wasn't bad, company was fine. Brother in law was tolerable. I'd do it again.

Nice. A riverboat dinner sounds fun.
