Goddamn this is such a killer show. I think this is my favorite Queens lineup. Jon's technically a better drummer, but I miss Joey.

Troy's guitar part on Wit Chu is killer too. Probably the best performance of the song I've heard.

Not quite. It's too short.

I think I'm gonna wait. Can't risk a lesser quality rip be my first impression.

Straight Jacket Fitting is undeniably terrifc. I want so bad for it to be another couple minutes longer, like a Warsaw or Daffodils type deal, where I can really dig into that riff.

Re: God Is In The Radio / The Queens Of The Stone Age Thread
Very early and non-binding thoughts on the musical aspects of the new record:
01 Obscenery - Strings in a Queens opener? Multi-sectional, guitar sound reminiscent of I'm Designer, tasty changes and vocals, HURRAH!
02 Paper Machete - Upbeat, fun bounce, pretty simple riff, really nice solo, very enjoyable instrumental sections, gets better with each spin
03 Negative Space - In another band's hands this track would be kind of average, the musicianship tends to lift this one up, Theodore is the MVP, closely edging out a superb lead break
04 Time & Place - Homme admires Radiohead's song Jigsaw Falling Into Place, where multiple parts are constantly added and taken away, this song has echoes of that approach
05 Made To Parade - Glad to land on a song that isn't sorta sprinting to the finish line like the last four, interesting vocal arrangement, second half is great, I love a good fadeout
06 Carnavoyeur - Makes me think that he second half of the record has a lot more personality than the first half, there's a lot to like about this track, wish it was longer
07 What The Peephole Say - Another express one, haven't really engaged with this tune yet
08 Sicily - I am a big supporter of this track, it has a nice itch to it, another one I wish they would have given us more of
09 Emotion Sickness - One of their best singles yet
10 Straight Jacket Fitting - My favourite, easily on par with any A or A+ tier Queens song you might care to mention
The leak hasn't floored me like LC did - you could tell immediately that that was a special record as you replayed the mp3s over and over - but it's miles ahead of Villains, where you were playing the mp3s over and over hoping that you missed the magic and it was going to finally reveal itself but it just couldn't.
SJF is execeptional, hopefully a few others develop similarly over the course of the next few weeks, months and years.
It will be interesting to see which of these songs slip into the live catalogue and become mainstays. I hope that it is material like SJF, Sicily and Carnavoyeur.
Theodore does another great job serving the material. Guy is elite.
That's probably enough for now.
