i really like how ed uses his voice here. subtle, but really emotive.

the drums are interesting too. there's kinda alot goin on for a slow song, almost jazzy.

whatever they start doing at the end should have gone on for another 30-60 seconds.

is it overstating that this might be the best song they've written since binaural? its really, really good.

I dig Cold Confession a lot, most likely because it's the type of song I see myself liking now and actually growing to like more as time goes on...and that hasn't been the mark of PJ post 2005

Not so sure about Let it Ride tho...

i agree, i'd like the outro to be played a little while longer.

Just fired up the Speed of Sound Demo. God damn it was so good. CC gives me the same feelings I had when this demo was released before Backspacer.

Maybe there is more hope than we all think.

Just a question, we can't ask for links, right?

Since it is, maybe fanclub members are getting that EP Mike talked about with 6-8 b-sides along with LB? That's why these songs some how showed up now after all these years on the shelf? One can hope with songs like these 2.
Lol, it only cost me $5 shipping to Australia for the vinyl.

Maybe this is part of the "bonus digital content" for the 10c version?
Cost me $5 shipping to Australia for the vinyl AND the CD.

Seems to be a glitch/error they're not aware of/willing to fix. Or they're being shipping from NZ. I actually think I remember receiving something for 10Club from NZ in recent years...

shipping costs have been out of whack since the "beta" site went live. prices jumped for u.s. residents, and seem to have significantly decreased for international. whenever a big item goes on sale on pj.com there are several threads about the messed up shipping but nothing has ever been done as far as i am aware. perhaps they're making up for all the years int'l buyers got hosed (HAHA! this guy). but i'll bet my house that there's no way the shipping cost is related to the lightning bolt album being shipped with anything extra.

I hate Pearl Jam. Can“t believe they just decided not to use this songs. They are AMAZING.
There is something in let it ride that reminds me of some kind of Radiohead B-Side.

Not overstating.
Quite potentially, stating fact.

This is what happens when you have 5 songwriters in a band.

You put weaker songs on albums in order to appease each songwriter, rather than putting your best songs forward and letting the cream rise to the top.

If you take out Inside Job and replace it with Cold Confession, or take out Big Wave and replace it with Let It Ride...you piss off Mike & Jeff, but have an overall stronger album in the end.

Makes you wonder what else they're holding back.
