The rest of his life will be spent in a desperate attempt not to hear another jackass waiter ask if he’s ready to ORDUHHHR yet

Lovely speech and genuinely emotional

Watch as the Tory front bench don’t even have the decency to applaud him.

He’s outplayed them as they can’t replace him the way they want to.

So basically, Johnson and May spent Trump's presidency fighting each other over how best to sell the NHS to Trump.

I’ve already forgotten that he was leaving. The Commons is fairly exploding right now.

Picturing Boris Johnson, watching this vote happen and remembering how he destroyed his own majority just days ago.

Sure enough: government would almost certainly have won this one if they had focused on maintaining party cohesion instead of trying to clear the ranks of any independent thinkers.

Britain’s woes just hit a whole new level of worse. This will only become apparent to them when they return to the table post brexit. If it ever happens.

Varadkar's reference to Ireland being Johnson's Athena was very clever. There are a number of parallels. Firstly, in Greek mythology, Athena was the goddess who knocked Hercules out when he went mad, killed his own children and was about to kill his father. So Ireland/Athena is restraining an insane Johnson/Hercules. Secondly, Athena was sometimes known as the goddess of democracy. So Ireland/Athena represents democracy versus a violent Johnson/Hercules. Thirdly, Athena was also Hercules' half-sister which symbolises the historic ties between Ireland and the UK.

Notice the way they’re all so dismissive of the Scottish MPs? Both Tories and Labour. This will haunt them.
Boris looks like he’s aged about a decade. No pity for him but this can’t be easy.
