i had it in my hand but thought it was some fake-ass bootleg and already had the Australian show on cassette, so i didn't bother

i worked at best buy in the media dept when that cd was to come out. we got it in maybe a week or so before the ad, and since i spent a lot of time in the back room sorting cds and movies to go out to the floor i opened one and had that thing on repeat on our cd player all week. i came in to work a morning or two before the sunday ad and my supervisor comes right up to me and says something like ‘i need your pearl jam cd back, we have to send them all back to be destroyed or the store gets fined’. so i never got one. i did make a cassette dub of it, but that disc is probably one of the few things left out there that i still kind of covet simply because i have a closely associated memory with it.

best buy had to offer a free cd, any single cd up to 14.99 or something, to make up for not having the pj freebie when you bought svt. they certainly lost a lot of money on that fuck up.

I think you guys are forgetting about the portion of the fanbase that creams their pants over this kind of thing. Over anything at all.
