Once they were sex symbols, now they are symbols of good behavior in the workplace.

And frame-bombing in TV commercials.
They can only recycle cheesy 80's songs as a funny haha so many times.

I did see a tweet that made me laugh a bit.
Dave Grohl. Unfollowed. Was a big fan of the adultery, but I had no idea the music sounded like that.

As someone who used to post in the old Foos message board back in 2001, 2002ish, that screenshot they showed here took me way back.
I remember seeing the Alive and Well links, but I had no idea what they actually meant.

Bit of a kick in the teeth. Though I have no worries about him getting picked up by another band or at least to go out on tour with A Perfect Circle or even NIN.

Maybe he was the one that spilled the beans to Grohl’s wife.

Josh is on tour right now with A Perfect Circle and they have shows booked most of this year, including one in early October on the night before the just-announced Foo Fighters show in Singapore.
I wouldn't be surprised if Dave's expectation is that you can't play in Foo Fighters part-time: it's your main gig, even when the band isn't actively playing, and everything else is secondary. When Dave wants to play, you need to be ready to go. I can see that coming into conflict with Josh's other commitments.

yeah, could be
i would think you have some sort of arrangement before you accept to play with them? specially just as a touring member.

I believe Bruce Springsteen has that same policy, which caused Nils Lofgren heartburn choosing between touring with Crazy Horse or the E Street Band.

Could also be the personality just didn't fit. He was only drummer for 2 years.

Maybe, but Dave’s known him and worked with him before.

From Alternativenation.net:
Did drummer Stan Bicknell just confirm that SHANE HAWKINS is joining Foo Fighters as their new drummer??
Hours after JOSH FREESE announced that he had been let go from the Foo Fighters, Stan Bicknell posted to his Instagram stories claiming that he has been informed Shane Hawkins (son of the late Taylor Hawkins) will be taking over.
"I've just been informed, they've gone with Shane... But you didn't hear it here " he wrote.
Dave Grohl and co. have yet to comment on the situation, nor have they confirmed who will be the band's new drummer.

Seeing what the rock ‘n’ roll circus did to his dad, I wouldn’t think this would be a good decision for anybody. If this is true.

Everything they ever do feels like a marketing move.
Overall a weird decision to boot Josh. By far their drummer ever. When it was announced that Josh would be their drummer, my first thought was... well, those are pretty big feet to fill those shoes..
