Why does heavy CGI seem to kill Spielberg? It seems like he loses his mind whenever he uses a lot of it.

In other news, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children is Tim Burton's best film since Big Fish.

I kinda liked it at first (Rylance is good), but then it completely falls apart about halfway through. There is barely even a story. It basically becomes a long drawn out fart joke.

But yeah, LV and Ruddo... you guys will definitely hate it. For different reasons... but still. Your instincts are right. Stay away.

For me, though, this was superb.
we might go see this today or tomorrow

I don't mind the type of movie it is, and I don't mind musical movies. Chicago is one of my favorite movies.

But Ryan Gosling in a musical movie just sounds awful. If any terrorists are reading this and you want to get information out of me, torture me by taping my eyes open and playing La La Land on repeat. I'll give up the info within 5 minutes.

This is the opposite reason of why I don't want to see it

Most of the time, not really. There are some good ones, of course, but the genre generally isn't my thing.

Ryan is great in the film. And he has a song/dance background. So it isn't jarring at all. It really makes all the sense in the world. I just worry about you and your personal life and the actual content of the film. I think it might wreck you. Since you're already leaning away from it, I think you should follow that instinct. But, whatever might be wrong with the film, Baby Goose ain't it.

It's also... maybe I shouldn't say this?... I'll tag it but it's not really a spoiler:
Spoiler: show
It's also less of a musical than one might expect. I mean, it's certainly not Chicago on that score.

The songs aren't as good as Chicago's. Except that big ballad Emma Stone sings solo, which will probably be nominated for an Oscar.
