I like that main theme that gets repeated throughout. That um... City of Stars? You're right, it's not as good as Chicago by any means. But it's a great little number.

One of my all time favorite movie-going experiences: After the film was over, the credits rolled. I got up out of my seat and walked out and an older gentleman a few seats down was humming the melody to that song. Then I walked past him and down a few rows and there was an usher picking up left over plates/cups and he was humming the melody. Then as we were exiting the theater my wife started humming the song, too. It was amazing. Like the movie just kept going. I teared up. I fucking loved this movie.

I couldn't really get into it; I blame Chris O'Dowd and whomever cast him. He sounded terrible, like he kept wanting to do a deep south accent and forgetting halfway through sentences that Floridians don't talk like that.

And what was up with the score? The big fight at the end - while very impressive - lost a lot of weight due to the very whimsical music throughout.

The Danny DeVito/Kevin Spacey movie from like 99? I remember really liking that movie when it came out. I think I even bought it on DVD. But I haven't seen it since it was in theaters.

I really don't remember a thing about it. Other than walking out of the theater and thinking, "man, that was good; like a play!"

American Honey.

Andrea Arnold should won every fuckin award for this. Such a compelling, beautiful, uplifting movie. And she did it again, her lead give us the best performance of 2016...Man, she really know how to frame her characters in that weird square-ish aspect ratio..its like 4.3 all over again and it has never looked so nice. Its almost Imax.

God I love Andrea Arnold. I'm excited to watch that one.

Bad Santa 2 - what a piece of shit movie. I had such high hopes after the first one, but this was crap!

There were a couple of good lines in there. "I guess the abortion didnt take" was my favorite.

Vera Cruz (1954). I would have guessed it came out in the late 60's if not for the presence of Gary Cooper. Its a good 10-15 years ahead of its time in regards to action and violence.

i think i'm going to see either miss peregrine's or the accountant today...i'm less interested in the latter, but it has a nice cast and i really liked warrior so i might give o'connor a chance
