It’s both.

When the guys were all together at practice or whatever, and something odd would happen, they would blame it on Leonard Skinner from the song and have a big laugh. Then, some of them would be sent home from high school for having long hair by the gym coach, Leonard Skinner (who later got into real estate). It was actually a few years after all this they started going by Lynyrd Skynyrd. They were Conqueror Worm for a bit and then was The One Percent (after the Hell’s Angels). And they would go back and forth between those and LS for a while. They only settled on LS as a permanent name a few months before they recorded their debut album.

I guess this is how you make a radio hit, take the intro from It's Raining Men and the chorus from Everytime We Touch



There's a rawk radio station playing at the gym that I go to, and I hear this song every time I'm there. And no, I don't own earbuds because I don't listen to music from my phone. And the song is terrible.

The music starting at about 0:30 sounds like boss battle music from a Final Fantasy game on Super Nintendo

A lot of that speed metal seems to run together to me, but I like it.
