The album is incredible. There are clear standout tracks that will rank amongst the best in PJs catalogue. DOTC is one of them. Keeps getting better and better. Also. The production is going to unfold more and more with each listen. As it has been doing with DOTC. I’m a huge fan of the band’s studio work and I had high expectations for this album. Some tracks surpassed those expectations.scrub12 wrote:I remain optimistic because DOTC is great and the production rules.
Yeah but which tracks, if any, are better than Better Days?KidC- wrote:The album is incredible. There are clear standout tracks that will rank amongst the best in PJs catalogue. DOTC is one of them. awesome. how do you square that with it sounding like lightning bolt?KidC- wrote:The album is incredible. There are clear standout tracks that will rank amongst the best in PJs catalogue. Sirens is in my top 10. But for me. Lightning bolt ends after pendulum. The hidden track is the bridge of yellow moon. And it is fantastic.evenslow wrote:awesome. how do you square that with it sounding like lightning bolt?KidC- wrote:The album is incredible. And I’d maybe think low light was a ballad.Strat wrote:I’m just thinking that if I was put in a room and got to listen to yield one time through while having shots of tequila .... then had to report back to the internet ... I’d probably classify brain of j as a punk song too.
Carry on gigaton. Let’s see what you’ve got.

He's clearly a troll but it's fun to engage because we got nothing else...I mean, in the history of the world nobody has ever uttered the phrase "If you like Better Days...you will love this"LoathedVermin72 wrote:I’m sorry but anyone who thinks every PJ album is worthy of 5 stars should not be trusted in any capacity

I mean, there's Getaway, Pendulum, Infallible, MYM, Yellow Moon ... all extremely different types of songs. I get that there are BoB production flourishes (I'm not a technical listener so I don't know what the fuck you guys are talking about half the time) some of you do not like from him, but in terms of songwriting and such .... there is no "Lightning Bolt" sound. This sounds like it's going to be another varied album w/ stuff for different types of fans ... but somehow people will pidgeonhole it into a thing. Backspacer I get ... there's a specific thing about it w/ punchy and condensed ... LB or Avocado for that matter, I don't really understand the pidgeonholing.
I can verify the user on this board and the twitter account he said was his, are in fact the same person.Jaeti wrote:So, I don't know how much we're actually trusting KidC right now, but the tequila he said was served at this thing, the label matches the bottle Ed's holding in that Instagram photo.
I dunno if there are other photos floating around, but it's not that identifiable in the IG pic. He might be legit.
Hmmm ... I think I can get with this. I generally think LB is pretty darn strong but LTRP and SBM are just well below subpar and take the wind out of the end of the album. I do agree that the Yellow Moon bridge is a standout. I'm generally more like Kid C as a fan .... I'm probably gonna be pretty happy. Heck with all of you cranks.KidC- wrote:Sirens is in my top 10.
